Meals, Menus & Bia Blasta

At Hollyhill Knocknaheeny Family Centre, we understand that healthy food supports children’s learning, wellbeing, concentration, and development.

We aim to provide a positive food environment where children can enjoy nutritious meals and snacks as part of their daily routine.

Bia Blasta Programme

The Family Centre participates in the Bia Blasta Programme, an Irish preschool nutrition initiative that supports the provision of light, nutritious lunches for children attending the free ECCE preschool programme.

The programme supports children’s health and wellbeing and may help reduce the need for parents to provide packed lunches for eligible preschool sessions.

Our Menus

  • Preschool Lunch Menu

Preschool children are provided with a simple lunch menu as part of the Bia Blasta Programme, where applicable. This menu supports children attending the free ECCE preschool programme

  • Crèche & Part-Time Dinner Menu

A dinner menu is provided for crèche part-time children and part-time preschool children who stay on after the ECCE session. This menu runs as part of the Family Centre’s daily care routine.

Our menus run in three-week cycles and may be adjusted throughout the year to reflect children’s needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.

Allergies and Dietary Needs

Parents and guardians must inform the Family Centre of any allergies, dietary needs, intolerances, medical food requirements, or cultural/religious food requirements.

This information helps staff keep children safe and ensure food routines are managed appropriately. Please inform the Family Centre immediately if your child’s dietary or allergy information changes.

Healthy Eating

The Family Centre promotes healthy eating and positive food habits as part of each child’s daily learning and care experience.

Staff encourage children to enjoy food in a calm, supportive, and social environment. Menus, allergy information, or food-related guidance may be provided by the Family Centre where relevant.
